Biosketch

Prof Kesavan is an oncologist, with a special interest, spanning the past 25 years, in bladder and prostate cancers. He leads a very experienced and talented team of oncologists, providing a comprehensive array of tertiary care clinical services from surgery to investigational therapies. His doctoral thesis was in immunotherapy for bladder cancer and he is internationally recognised for his contributions to this field. He leads several research groups studying gene transfection, metabolomics, immunotherapy, novel therapeutic agents and new device innovation for a variety of diseases but primarily in oncology. He has been an editorial board member for several international urological journals and is a past President of both the Singapore Urological Association and the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has held senior administrative positions in the National University Hospital, including Vice Chairman Medical Board (Surgical Strategy).
