Biosketch

Dr. Ellen Lee completed her specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Philippine General Hospital in 2008 where she developed a keen interest in management of upper limb trauma and brachial plexus surgery. She worked as a clinical fellow in Division of Hand and Foot Surgery, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in University of Hong Kong that year and gained experience in hand and wrist reconstruction. She came to Singapore for a fellowship in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery in 2010 to further her interest in microsurgical reconstruction of the extremities. She completed her specialist training in Hand Surgery with National University Hospital in 2017 and was awarded the College of Surgeons Gold Medal for Hand Surgery.

Dr Ellen Lee is in full-time clinical practice as a Consultant and Clinical Director of the Department of Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery, National University Hospital. She is dedicated to improving function in patients with pain and upper limb weakness or paralysis resulting from peripheral nerve compression, brachial plexus injuries, stroke/brain injury and tetraplegia. She has published and presented on nerve supply of the upper limb and nerve regeneration and is engaged in research on motor control of the upper limb and the clinical outcomes of the Peripheral Nerve Service in her department.
