Dr Nyo Yoke Lin completed his basic medical education in National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002. After completing his National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces, he went on to train in surgery. He obtained Master of Medicine in Surgery with NUS in 2007 and was accepted as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the same year.
Influenced by Professor Prabhakaran and Dr Dale Lincoln Loh during his stint in Paediatric Surgery as a junior trainee, Dr Nyo Yoke Lin furthered his training in the field of Paediatric Surgery. Dr Nyo qualified as a Paediatric Surgeon after completing training in 2012 and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Paediatric Surgery.
In 2012, Dr Nyo was also awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award (AMDA) by the National University Health System. Having developed interest in the area of Paediatric Urology, Dr Nyo spent 2 years as a clinical fellow in the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne, Australia under the tutelage of Professor Yves Héloury and Professor John Hutson.
Dr Nyo has several areas of interest within Paediatric Urology, including hypospadias and reconstruction of the genitalia, neurourology and urodynamics as well as complex reconstruction for obstructive uropathy and neurogenic bladder and renal transplantation. He continues to pursue his interest in Reconstructive Urology and Disorders of Sex Development (DSD) with ongoing video meetings with RCH DSD group.
Dr Nyo is a corresponding member of the European Society of Paediatric Urology (ESPU) and is accredited by the European Academy of Paediatric Urology (EAPU), having passed the FEAPU-Exam.
