Biosketch

Dr Tan Lip Kun graduated from Leicester Medical School, UK, in 1989. She obtained her MRCP in 1993 and completed her post-graduate training in Haematology in 1998 and obtained her MRCPath in 1998. She was conferred FRCPath in 2006. Dr Tan has experience in both laboratory and clinical haematology. Her main field of interests in Haematology is in Acute Leukaemias, Lymphoproliferative Diseases, Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Transfusion Medicine. She is the Programme Director for the NUHS Adult and Paediatric Haematopoeietic Stem Cell Transplant Clinical Programme, a FACT-accredited centre. Dr Tan is the Clinical Director of the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

She is also the Medical Director for the Stem Cell Processing Laboratory, Blood Transfusion Services and Blood Donation Centre which are accreditated with the College of American Pathologist (CAP) and American Association of Blood Banking (AABB). Dr Tan is the Chairperson for the Hospital Blood Usage Committee and is one of the team member of the Quality Improvement and Risk Management (QIM) of the hospital. She is an appointed member of the Product Vigilance Advisory Committee of HSA. Dr Tan is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Pathology, Yong Loo Lin Medical School, NUS. She participates in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Dr Tan is appointed as the Executive Director at the Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore. She leads the national cell and gene therapy programme.
