Dr Adriel Leong practices as an Associate Consultant in the Division of Neurosurgery at Alexandra Hospital and National University Hospital. He studied medicine at the National University of Singapore. He graduated from the NUHS Neurosurgery Residency Program as the best performing resident at the conjoint Neurosurgery Joint Speciality Fellowship Examination and is accredited as a specialist in neurosurgery by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Singapore. He served as the NUHS Neurosurgery Chief Resident in his penultimate year of residency.
He completed a Master of Public Health and a Master of Medicine (Surgery) with the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine respectively. He also completed the NUHS Research Residency Program – a hallmark Programme for formal research training which runs in parallel with clinical training. He has numerous publications in international journals and has had his work presented both in overseas and local conferences.
On top of clinical commitments, for which he has been recognised with commendations and compliments, he is actively involved in innovation projects and has keen interests in harnessing the power of innovation to enhance patient outcomes in spinal and neurovascular pathologies. He is also committed to the education of neurosurgery residents, junior doctors, medical students and allied health professionals.
