2024/05/31
What is Pulmonary embolism

The blood vessels connected to the lungs may sometimes become blocked by blood clots. This typically occurs in patients with risk factors such as having cancer, being bed bound or recovering from surgery. Symptoms include breathlessness and there may be an unusually low amount of oxygen in the blood.

Treatment and drugs

Treatment usually involves medications to thin the blood.
