A/P Chan graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Cambridge in 1995 and became a member of the RCOG (UK) in 2000. She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the West Midlands, UK, in 2008 then practiced as a Consultant Obstetrician, heading the Endocrine Antenatal Clinic at the Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, UK, until she joined NUH as a Consultant in 2014. Her special interest is in the management of pregnant women with medical disorders and she now conducts the high risk antenatal clinics at NUH.
A/P Chan is also a Clinician Scientist who runs a research programme at the National University of Singapore. Her particular research interest is in thyroid hormone action in fetal and placental development. She is also involved in clinical studies and trials of maternal endocrine status and pregnancy outcomes.
