Dr Chan graduated from National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2016. During her undergraduate years, she was on the Dean's list in the Third, Fourth and Fifth Professional Examinations (2013-2016) and was the recipient of the Nihal Kaur Memorial Medal (First in the Fourth Professional Examination) and of the Gold Medal and Book Prize in Ophthalmology in 2015.
Dr Chan underwent her Ophthalmology residency training in the National University Hospital, and was the Chief Resident from 2022 to 2023. She completed the residency programme in 2024, and was awarded the Gold Medal in Oculoplastic & Adnexal Disease during the Ophthalmology Exit Examination. She is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Ophthalmology) and of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, and is a committee member of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology - Young Ophthalmologists. Dr Chan is currently undergoing her Glaucoma fellowship training in the National University Hospital.
She has authored more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 5 book chapters. A passionate teacher who believes her colleagues, medical students and allied health, she has been awarded several teaching awards by the National University Hospital (Good Teacher Award) and the National University of Singapore (Young Teacher Award, Junior Doctor Teaching Award). Dr Chan is also a trainer involved in the Division of Graduate Medical Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine for the Graduate Certificate Programme for eye diseases.
