Dr Olszyna received his medical degree from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He completed his advanced medical specialty training in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. In 2001, he was awarded a PhD in medicine from the University of Amsterdam.
Dr Olszyna has been working in the field of HIV for more than 10 years, both in clinical care of people living with HIV/AIDS as well as in teaching. His clinical interests beyond HIV/AIDS are viral hepatitis B and C with particular interest in HIV/hepatitis C co-infections.
Dr. Olszyna joined the Division of Infectious Diseases at the National University Hospital (NUH) in 2008. He is one of the co-founders of the HIV service in NUH. Dr Olszyna serves as the Programme Director of the National University Health System’s (NUHS) Advanced Internal Medicine Senior Residency and Associate Programme Director of the NUHS Internal Medicine Residency. Dr. Olszyna also serves as the Vice Chairman Medical Board for the Medical Affairs Education Office at Alexandra Hospital.
