Adj. Assistant Professor Eugene Tan is a Cardiologist at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He is a board certified Electrophysiologist by the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and specialises in simple and complex ablations for heart rhythm disorders, and cardiac devices including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy.
He graduated from Monash University with Honours, and completed his Cardiology training at the National University Heart Centre Singapore, where he served as Chief Cardiac Senior Resident. After receiving the Ministry of Health Learning Development Award, Asst. Prof. Eugene pursued a fellowship in advanced Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, an internationally renowned, quaternary premier academic centre specialising in complex heart rhythm management and ablations.
Asst. Prof. Eugene’s research interests are in the fields of atrial fibrillation and cardiac pacing therapy. He was awarded the Academic Fellowship at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and is completing his PhD in conduction system pacing. He is the Principal Investigator of several cardiac pacing-related studies and currently serves on the editorial board of JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology as a Scholar in Residence.
He holds the appointment of Adj. Assistant Professor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
