Adjunct Professor Gabriel Liu has received his Medical and Master degrees from the University College Dublin, Ireland, and completed advanced surgical training in Orthopaedic in Singapore. He completed the fellowships below:
Adj Prof Gabriel Liu, with more than 20 years post-fellowships spine practice, is recognised as one of the leading clinical and academic figures in the spine community, locally and internationally. He is the past president for Cervical Spine Research Society – Asia Pacific (CSRS-AP), past president for Singapore Spine Society (SSS), past chairman for East Asia AOSpine Society and past chairman for Singapore AOSpine Society. Patients with complex spine conditions have come to see him from overseas to be treated Singapore.
Conditions treated range from spinal degeneration, spinal fracture, spinal metastasis, congenital deformity of the spine and application of enabling technology including spinal navigation and robotics.

Adj Prof Gabriel Liu is head of National University Spine Institute (NUSI), of which he founded and formed a dedicated spine specialist integration under National University Health System (NUHS) across Alexandra Hospital (AH), Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and National University Hospital (NUH).
He is also Head and Senior Consultant of Spine in the Orthopaedic department, University Spine Centre at National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore.
