Dr Ian Tan graduated with MBBS at the National University of Singapore and was trained in paediatrics in Singapore. He is an ordinary member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom).
Dr Tan has overseas working experience and was appointed STARLIGHT medical officer during his national service. During his 11 months in Taiwan (2011 – 2012), he authored the first edition of “STARLIGHT Medical Instructions” and achieved the Gold award after the Excellence in Medical Service Award (EMSA) inspection of all 3 medical centres.
Dr Tan has interests in teaching and training younger residents and medical students. He was assistant convenor for Phase III final MBBS from 2017 – 2018.
Dr Tan has contributed to the community and was part of the National Day Parade paediatrics team in 2015 and 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he volunteered his services at Seletar Camp decantment facility housing foreign workers affected by the pandemic.
