Dr Jimmy Kyaw Tun is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, National University Hospital.
He obtained his medical degree at the University of Leeds, UK, during which he also obtained a BSc in biochemistry and molecular Biology with first class honours. After completing his basic surgical training, he undertook his residency and fellowship in diagnostic and interventional radiology within the Barts and the London training scheme. During this time, he also completed a short fellowship in interventional oncology at the Institut Gustave-Roussy in France.
Following his fellowship training, he worked as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist from 2018 to 2022 at the Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London where he performed both vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures. He was also the lead radiologist for Computer Tomography and has a specialist interest in vascular and trauma imaging, and spectral CT.
He has a keen interest in medical education and had previously completed a fellowship in medical education. In addition, he completed a Master’s in clinical education (with distinction) at the Institute of Education, London and completed his research doctorate in simulation-based medical Education at Imperial College, London.
He maintains a keen interest in academia and has published a number of papers and book chapters within the fields of both interventional radiology and medical education.
