Prof K Satku specialises in disorders of the knee, as well as general orthopaedics. His special areas of interest are the care, rehabilitation and surgical treatment of injuries and degenerative disorders of knee joint.
Prof K Satku completed his medical degree at the University of Singapore in 1974. He underwent his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital and did his Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London. He joined the National University of Singapore in 1978 as a Lecturer and was appointed a full Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1999. He was appointed Emeritus Consultant at the National University Hospital in 2015 and appointed Emeritus Professor at NUS in 2023.
Prof K Satku is actively involved in clinical work and in the teaching of medical students at NUS. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore). Prof K Satku is the author of numerous scientific research articles and book chapters.
