Dr Li Zisheng is currently a Consultant with the Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) in National University Hospital and Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in Alexandra Hospital (AH). He is also appointed as an Assistant Professor with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
He is appointed as the Undergraduate Medical Education Director for Emergency Medicine in NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He provides the oversight for the direction and coordination of medical education activities in the Emergency Departments in Singapore. Each year, he oversees more than 300 NUS medical students rotating through EM postings. As a Clinician Educator, he is also actively involved in teaching the EM Residents, pharmacists, nurses and medical officer cadets. He is also a member of the Communication Competency-based Workgroup with NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
In recognition of his contributions, he has won several teaching awards, including the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award in 2019 and 2020, Residents' Choice Award- Outstanding Clinical Session Award 2019, NUS Fortitude Award 2020 and Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2021. During his earlier years as a Resident, Dr Li also won the Prof Anantharam Book Prize Award as he emerged as the top scorer for the MMed examinations in EM.
Dr Li Zisheng was also appointed as the Clinical Director in Alexandra Hospital (AH) Urgent Care Centre (UCC). He oversaw the clinical matters and assisted the head of UCC in managing clinical operations. He is also a member of the AH Campus Redevelopment Committee and Infection Control Committee.
As a strong advocator of lifelong learning, his interest is in Medical Education and hopes to collaborate with others to help groom medical students and junior doctors.
