Dr. Kalyani completed her basic medical training and post-graduate training in Paediatrics in India. She subsequently moved to the UK for higher specialist training in Paediatrics that was followed by sub-specialty training in Paediatric Neurodisability. She has dual accreditation in both General Paediatrics as well as Paediatric Neurodisability with over 10 years of experience in caring for children with developmental and behavioural problems, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and complex neurodisability.
She became a Member of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2003. She has been fully registered with General Medical Council in UK, is on Specialist Register in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Neuro-disability (UK), and is on the Singapore Medical Council Specialist Register of General Paediatricians.
She is currently a Senior Consultant in the Child Development Unit (CDU) at the National University Hospital where she is part of the multidisciplinary team that runs the developmental and behavioural paediatrics programme at both CDU clinics, located within the community, in Jurong Medical Centre and Keat Hong Community Club
Her special interests are developmental and behavioural problems in young children incuding: autism spectrum disorder, hearing issues in young children and Down syndrome and complex neurodisability.
She has been an invited faculty at national and international conferences and has presented her research at various forums.
