Biosketch

Dr Rakhee Yash Pal is a Senior Consultant in the Emergency Medicine Department, National University Hospital, Singapore. She graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and completed her post-graduate emergency medicine training in Singapore.

Her sub-specialty interests are in trauma resuscitation and the novel field of palliative and end-of-life care in the Emergency Department. She is the Director of Palliative Care services in the NUH Emergency Department and leads the National Workgroup for Palliative Care in Emergency Medicine.  Her roles include instituting end-of-life care guidelines and developing educational modules on palliative medicine specifically for emergency department doctors and nurses.

Dr Rakhee is the principal investigator of a NMRC grant-funded multicentre study, entitled “End-of-life management protocol offered within the Emergency Room”, or EMPOWER. She has a keen interest in further research and collaboration in order to establish quality end-of-life care for patients at the ED.
