Biosketch

Dr Tan graduated in Medicine with distinction and commendation from the University of Glasgow, thereafter completing his postgraduate training in NUH Department of Laboratory Medicine. He is a specialist board-accredited Chemical Pathologist with Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (FRCPA). Presently serving as the department’s patient safety officer, he strives to improve laboratory processes for better clinical outcomes. Concurrently, he has appointments with SAC as a technical assessor, chairs several laboratory evaluation committees, and is a formal chemical pathology supervisor with the RCPA. His interests in clinical chemistry include laboratory management, assay development and precision medicine.
