A/Prof Joseph Thambiah specialises in the management of a variety of spinal disorders and has a special interest in robot-assisted and minimally invasive spine surgery, including cervical and lumbar surgery, scoliosis surgery and artificial disc replacement.
A/Prof Thambiah completed his medical degree at the University of Singapore in 1983. He trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital, obtained his FRCS and MMed in General Surgery in 1988, and completed his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at NUH. He is a fellowship-trained spinal surgeon. He has also undergone fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. A/Prof Thambiah is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at NUS and was the Clinical Director of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, NUH.
