Dr Thong Xin Yi graduated with MBBS from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM), National University Hospital, Singapore and subsequently completed her paediatrics residency training at the National University Hospital. She has been a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) since 2018. In 2021, she received her specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine.
Dr Thong is currently a Consultant with the Children’s Emergency at Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children's Medical Institute. Her clinical interests are in both acute and community paediatric care, as well as child development. She also has a keen interest in medical education and has been actively involved in the teaching of medical students and postgraduate doctors who rotate through their paediatric postings. In addition, she served as house mentor for the Year 1 medical students from YLLSOM as part of the EnRICH Mentorship Programme from 2020 to 2021.
In 2021, Dr Thong received the Good Teacher Award (Interactive Category) from the NUS Department of Paediatrics, as part of the Annual Teaching Excellence Award for Undergraduate Teaching.
