Dr. Teo Yu Ze, Evan is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and subsequently completed a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery (MMed) at NUS. He is a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS, FRCS), as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).
Dr. Teo is actively involved in trauma management, fracture care, and surgical procedures related to orthopaedic injuries. He is committed to providing high-quality patient care and optimizing surgical outcomes, particularly in the areas of upper limb sports injuries and joint reconstruction. Dedicated to his professional development, he regularly engages in local and regional conferences and educational courses.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Teo serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS), where he plays an active role in educating and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Teo gained valuable leadership experience in the Singapore Armed Forces, serving as an Officer in the elite Commando unit. During his service, he held roles as a Training Coordinating Officer and Team Commander of the Reconnaissance Force, which equipped him with essential leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills—qualities he continues to apply in his medical practice.
Dr. Teo is also deeply interested in sports and physical activity. Having completed four full marathons and participated in competitive tennis during his school and university years, he possesses a unique understanding of sports-related orthopaedic conditions. This background fuels his commitment to improving care for athletes and active individuals, ensuring they can maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
