Chest Wall Disorders

Severe structural deformities of the spine, ribs or sternum (a long flat bone in front of the body to which the collarbone and most of the ribs are attached) may cause problems with breathing and lead to respiratory failure.

Treatment may involve the supplementation of oxygen and the application of breathing masks.
