Severe Sepsis

Severe sepsis refers to a severe infection involving any part of the body. It is one of the most common reasons for admission into the intensive care unit. It may lead to failure of several organs and is a common cause of death.

​Treatment is with antibiotics and support of the multiorgan failure.
