What is Clubfeet

​ Clubfeet refer to the abnormal inward and downward pointing of the feet present at birth.

What causes Bowing of the Knee?
  • May be due to genes and intra-uterine malpositioning.
  • Severe cases may be due to an abnormal spinal cord.
What are the symptoms?

Abnormal feet positioning and skin creases.

Treatment options

  • Weekly feet treatment and cast application to gradually correct the deformity by the Ponseti method.
  • Frequent small incisions to release the tight heel cord.
  • Bracing the feet for up to three years.

In the case of recurrence in older children, a foot tendon transfer may be required.
