Medical Benefit Cards
Please present your medical benefit card at the registration counter during your visit.

  1. Blood Donor/Nominee Card
  2. Civil Service Card
  3. SAF Identity card (11B)
  4. Insurance and 3rd Party Payer with direct billing arrangement with NUH

If your bill is incorrect, please call 1FSS at (+65) 6407 8138 from 8:30am to 5:30pm (Monday – Friday) and 8:30am to 12:30pm (Saturday) or submit a request here.
MediSave
Please inform our staff at the registration counter if you would like to use MediSave for your outpatient visit.

For hospitalisation charges, payment may be made through MediSave, the patient's company or insurance company or via self-payment. Please inform our admission staff if you intend to use MediSave. You will need to bring along your NRIC or CPF Membership Card.

If you are using a family member's MediSave to pay for your hospital bill, please produce documentary proof of the relationship and complete the Medical Claims Authorisation Form (MCAF). There are two types of MCAF, see below for more info.

Visit MOH website for more information on MediSave withdrawal limits for inpatient, day surgery and maternity bills.
MediShield Life
Please inform our staff during Financial Counselling if you wish to use your MediShield Life for payment.

MediShield Life is a basic health insurance, administered by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board. It is designed to pay for large hospital bills and selected costly outpatient treatments, such as dialysis and chemotherapy for cancer.

According to the Ministry of Health, MediShield Life coverage is sized for subsidised treatment in public hospitals. Those who choose to stay in a Class A/B1 ward or in a private hospital are also covered by MediShield Life. However, as MediShield Life payouts are pegged at Class B2/C wards, the MediShield Life payout will make up a small proportion of the bill. The patient may therefore need to pay more of his/her bill from MediSave and/or cash.

Visit the MOH MediShield Life web page for more information on MediShield Life benefits and claims.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs)
Please inform our staff during Financial Counselling if you wish to use your Integrated Shield Plans for payment.

According to the Ministry of Health, Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) are made up of two components – MediShield Life and additional private insurance coverage providing additional benefits to cover Singaporeans who plan to stay in Class B1 wards or higher in public hospitals. MediShield Life is included in all IPs. If you have an IP, you are already covered by MediShield Life as it is a component of your IP and there is no duplicate coverage. The insurance company you have taken the plan with acts as your single point of contact. They will act on the CPF Board's behalf for premium collection and claims disbursement for the MediShield Life component of your Integrated Shield plan.

Here is a list of IPs available in Singapore:

  • AIA Singapore Pte Ltd – HealthShield Gold Max
  • Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Ltd – Supreme Health
  • HSBC Life – HSBC Life Shield
  • Income – IncomeShield
  • Prudential Assurance Company Ptd Ltd – PruShield
  • Raffles Health Insurance – Raffles Shield
  • Singapore Life Ltd – SingLife Shield

MediSave Maternity Package (MMP)
The MediSave Maternity Package (MMP) is a package that allows MediSave to be used to pay for:

  • Pre-delivery medical expenses (e.g. consultations, ultrasounds, tests and medications)
  • Delivery expenses (such as medical expenses, delivery procedure charges and daily hospital charges)
You may withdraw:

Up to $900 for pre-delivery medical expenses, an additional surgical withdrawal limit ranging from $750 to $2,600 depending on the type of delivery procedure, and up to $550 per day for the first two days of admission and $400 per day from the third day onwards for the hospital stay.

If you have delivered your baby in NUH and your pre-delivery bills are from another Hospital/Clinic, NUH can submit your bills to the CPF Board for you, together with the delivery expenses. The amount of MediSave that can be used is capped by the amount of the actual bill or the withdrawal limit, whichever is lower.

Please click here to submit your external bills for pre-delivery medical care.

Visit CPF website for more information on MediSave withdrawal limits for maternity bills
