The Paediatrics Ethics and Advocacy Committee (PEACe) operates within the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI). Comprising academic staff from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSoM), as well as clinical and nursing staff from KTP-NUCMI, PEACe is part of the NUHS, an integrated academic health system with regional and national health responsibilities. Emeritus Professor Roy Joseph

Emeritus Professor Roy Joseph, at the Department of Paediatrics at NUS Medicine and an Emeritus Consultant in the Department of Neonatology at NUH, has research interests in clinical ethics, newborn screening and outcomes of neonatal intensive care. He also focuses on the teaching of ethics and professionalism. Chairing both the National Medical Ethics Committee and the NUH's Bioethics Committee, E/Prof Joseph directs KTP-NUCMI’s Paediatric Ethics and Advocacy Center (PEACe) and practises as a neonatologist.

Dr Agnihotri Biswas

A Consultant at NUH’s Department of Neonatology, Dr Agnihotri Biswas is involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. His research includes basic science (haemodynamics) and clinical trials (neonatal nutrition), with a keen interest in paediatric ethics, especially in areas of borderline viability, end-of-life care and neonatal research.

A Consultant at NUH’s Department of Paediatrics, Dr Aishworiya Ramkumar specialises in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics. She is an advocate for children with special needs and is actively involved in research focused on their developmental outcomes. Her special interest in paediatric ethics lies in end-of-life decision-making, including the forgoing of life-sustaining interventions.
