Your vision is our priority

Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the anatomy, functions, diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the eyes and visual pathways.

Established in 1986, the NUH Ophthalmology Department functions as a leading referral centre for ophthalmology in Singapore. We offer diagnostic and therapeutic services for both adults and children. Our team of experienced eye specialists manages the full spectrum of eye conditions, from common diseases such as cataract, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration to rare conditions such as ocular inflammation, eye cancers and inherited retina diseases.

As part of an academic health system, we place a strong emphasis on education, continuously educating patients, nurses, medical students and the community at large in the principles and practice of eye diseases. Additionally, we are dedicated to research and innovation, striving to provide the latest evidence-based diagnostics and treatments for both common and complex eye conditions.
