Surgical Nursing

The Surgical Nursing Unit delivers clinical services to adult patients with surgical and orthopaedic conditions. Our nurses customise care plans to suit the nature and complexity of each patient's needs. Care management is tailored to the provided care and services, and patients are assessed in accordance with the medical and nursing staff's expertise. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community partners, we ensure a comprehensive continuum of care.

Nurses within the unit are trained in various areas of specialty, including:

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programme andManagement and Innovation for Longevity in Elderly Surgical patients (MILES)
Stoma and wound care;
Nurse-led percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) resource team;
Ortho/geriatrics;
Pain care;
Breast care; and
Musculoskeletal osteosarcoma.
