Current research includes:

  • Emotional health in youth and parenting - A study to examine the factors of mood issues in adolescents and young adults (aged 12 to 25 years old), and their relationship with parenting styles. Through this study, we aim to understand more about self-harm behaviour in Youths, and whether there are related family issues.
  • Neuroimaging (Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)) - A diagnostic study to evaluate the role of fNIRS in diagnosing various psychiatric disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder and dementia.
  • Observational long-term prospective cohort studies of ageing and health.
