Sleep Surgery

The Sleep subspecialty focuses on the accurate diagnosis and management of sleep conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The primary focus includes optimising positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy and selecting suitable PAP alternatives for patient's intolerant to PAP. Collaboration with various healthcare disciplines enables the team to deliver the most patient-centric care. The holistic assessment and management of coexisting sleep conditions also improve patient sleep satisfaction.

Treatment and Management Options
  • Counselling
  • Diagnostic nasoendoscopy under sedation (i.e. drug-induced sleep endoscopy a.k.a. DISE) to visualise the problematic areas
  • Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) optimisation
Common Surgical Procedures
  • Upper airway including the nose, tonsils, palate, tongue, epiglottis and jaws
  • Hypoglossal nerve stimulation with implant placement
  • Inter-disciplinary management with bariatric surgery (weight management/surgery), respiratory medicine, neurology, dentistry, oral maxillofacial surgery, and psychiatry for holistic and comprehensive management of your sleep condition(s)
